This event was co-sponsored by the Purdue University Libraries and the Discovery Learning and Research Center (DLRC).<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Bruce outlined informed learning, a pedagogy for teaching how to use information in subject-focused learning contexts. She had the 56 attendees work in groups with a model called the Six Frames for Informed Learning, that helped us to reflect on and analyze how we teach students to use information within our discipline-focused classrooms. The day after the Symposium, Dr. Bruce had lunch with faculty involved with course redesign in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/impact\">Instruction Matters: Purdue Academic Course Transformation<\/a> (IMPACT) initiative. Later on Tuesday, she met with Purdue librarians to discuss information literacy instruction.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Bruce is a Professor in the Faculty of\u00a0Information Technology at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.qut.com\">Queensland\u00a0 University of Technology <\/a>(QUT) in Brisbane, Australia.
