These database snapshots will give you basic information about our most relevant and beneficial online resources.<\/p>\n<p>If you have a suggestion for a database that should be promoted or a subject that should be covered, please let us know.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This Week\u2019s Featured Database: <\/strong><em>EIU Country Data, <\/em>from Bureau Van Dijk.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Link:<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lib.purdue.edu\/mel\" target=\"_blank\">www.lib.purdue.edu\/mel<\/a>, in the pull down<em> Quick Access to Business Databases<\/em> alpha list right below the Libraries\u2019 search box.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Description\/focus:<\/strong> <em>EIU Country Data <\/em>provides economic indicators and forecasts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Start with this hint: <\/strong> The <em>EIU Country Data<\/em> first page describes the results you can expect from your selections.\u00a0 The toolbar across the top is stable as you build a dataset and is your best option for changing your selected criteria.\u00a0 Click on <strong>Data<\/strong> <strong>Selection<\/strong> to begin choosing countries, series, and years, then click <strong>Select<\/strong> to view the results as a table.\u00a0 You can convert to a bar chart, pie chart, or graph.\u00a0\u00a0 Data can be exported to Excel.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why you should know this database:<\/strong> <em>EIU Country Data<\/em> covers 201 countries with 317 series.\u00a0 For some markets, variables are projected to the year 2030.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How this database can be integrated into the curriculum: <\/strong><em>EIU Country Data<\/em> has a <em>Country Outlook<\/em> for each country with sections on political stability, economic growth, inflation, international relations, elections, and policy trends.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cost:<\/strong> Paid by the Libraries annually.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n<p>Database of the Week comes to you from the Management &amp; Economics Library (MEL).
