These database snapshots will give you basic information about our most relevant and beneficial online resources.<\/p>\n<p>If you have a suggestion for a database or topic that should be covered, please let us know.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This Week\u2019s Featured Database: <\/strong><em>OneSource, <\/em>from Infogroup.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Link:<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lib.purdue.edu\/mel\" target=\"_blank\">www.lib.purdue.edu\/mel<\/a>, in the pull down<em> Quick Access to Business Databases<\/em> alpha list right below the Libraries\u2019 search box.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Description\/focus:<\/strong> <em>OneSource<\/em> has international coverage of companies, executives, and industries, as well as articles and news.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Start with this hint: <\/strong> <em>OneSource<\/em> is the second option on the left at the ReferenceUSA site. The <em>OneSource<\/em> home page allows for a quick search in the 4 areas they cover, but you can see the depth of information in this database by starting with a search for a company you know, such as Ford.\u00a0 From the subsequent Ford company information page, you can link to analysts\u2019 reports, initiatives and developments, SEC filings, annual reports, industry reports.\u00a0 In the left column, click on <strong>OneStop Report<\/strong> and select the financial statements and other reports you want bundled in a quick take-away.\u00a0 Back at the home page you can <strong>Build a List<\/strong> of executives based on job title, industry, size of company, geographic location.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why you should know this database:<\/strong> <em>OneSource<\/em> includes private companies.\u00a0 Our subscription covers 4.7 million companies and 12.5 million executives.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other common tools available in this database<\/strong>: fulltext reports; create an alert; create a list of favorite.\u00a0 For use of these tools in this database, contact <a href=\"mailto:mdugan@purdue.edu\">Mary Dugan<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>How this database can be integrated into the curriculum: <\/strong><em>OneSource<\/em> has specifically sought elements of company and industry information such as SWOT, lists of competitors, analyst reports, and company histories.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cost:<\/strong> Paid by the Libraries annually.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n<p>Database of the Week comes to you from the Management &amp; Economics Library (MEL).
