These database snapshots will give you basic information about our most relevant and beneficial online resources.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This Week\u2019s Featured Database: <\/strong><em>Proquest Statistical Insight <\/em>from Proquest.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Link:<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lib.purdue.edu\/mel\" target=\"_blank\">www.lib.purdue.edu\/mel<\/a>, in the pull down<em> Quick Access to Business Databases<\/em> alpha list right below the Libraries\u2019 search box.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Description\/focus:<\/strong> <em>Proquest Statistical Insight <\/em> has taken the place of\u00a0 LexisNexis Statistical, providing demographic, business, and marketing data.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Start with this hint: <\/strong>The interface for <em>Proquest Statistical Insight<\/em> is much improved over the previous offering.\u00a0 The sources include federal agencies, international organizations, commercial publishers, universities, associations, and research organizations.\u00a0 Search results can be filtered for geographical area and subject, and are downloadable as tables or PDF.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why you should know this database:<\/strong> Because <em>Proquest Statistical Insight<\/em> draws from such a variety of sources, it covers subjects from humanities, social sciences, and science.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How this database can be integrated into the curriculum:<\/strong> Statistics are critical for decision making and with <em>Proquest Statistical<\/em> <em>Insight<\/em> students don\u2019t have to hunt for the right government agency to find the data they need.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cost:<\/strong> For annual subscription information, contact <a href=\"mailto:mdugan@purdue.edu\">Mary Dugan<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n<p>Database of the Week comes to you from the Management &amp; Economics Library (MEL).
