Welcome to Database of the Week — a feature from the Roland G. Parrish Library of Management & Economics.\u00a0 These weekly database snapshots will give you basic information about our most relevant and beneficial online resources.<\/p>\n

This Week\u2019s Featured Database: <\/strong>\u00a0LexisNexis Academic, <\/em>from LexisNexis, Inc.<\/p>\n

Description\/focus:<\/strong>\u00a0 LexisNexis Academic <\/em>provides access to news, legal information, and information about companies and people.<\/p>\n

Start with this hint: <\/strong>The LexisNexis<\/em> interface is fairly direct.\u00a0 Stick with the Easy Search<\/strong> on the opening page,<\/strong> pick your area, then enter your keyword. \u00a0When your results are presented, you can further narrow your search with another term or you can select from the filters on the left.\u00a0 If you switch from Easy Search<\/strong> to Power Search<\/strong> there are more options for narrowing a search; you can specify and sources including TV transcripts and college newspapers.\u00a0Click here <\/a>to see the basics of searching LexisNexis Academic<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Why you should know this database:\u00a0 <\/strong>LexisNexis Academic,<\/em> is a powerful tool for news and company information.\u00a0 Country Briefings<\/strong>, however, have not been updated since 2005.<\/p>\n

How this database can be integrated into the curriculum:<\/strong>\u00a0 A search for a recent topic in News<\/strong> can give your students an up-to-the minute international perspective on any subject.<\/p>\n
