This Week\u2019s Featured Database:\u00a0 <\/strong>SimplyMap <\/em>from Geographic Research, Inc.<\/p>\n Link:<\/strong> www.lib.purdue.edu\/mel<\/a>, in the pull down Quick Access to Business Databases<\/em> alpha list right below the Libraries\u2019 search box.<\/p>\n Description\/focus:<\/strong> SimplyMap <\/em>\u00a0provides demographic, business, and marketing data.<\/p>\n Start with this hint: <\/strong>The interface for SimplyMap<\/em> can walk you through the steps to produce the map or chart you need.\u00a0 The Variables<\/strong> you can select include:<\/p>\n Census Data The information can be represented on a map but can also be presented in a spreadsheet. See here <\/a>for a simplified demonstration of a basic search.<\/p>\n Why you should know this database:<\/strong>\u00a0 SimplyMap<\/em> is the tool to use to compare variables, rank locations, create a demographic analysis, or compare data for a location.<\/p>\n How this database can be integrated into the curriculum:<\/strong> SimplyMap<\/em> online workspaces can be shared.\u00a0 This database can be used for any class that requires a business plan or forecasting.<\/p>\n Cost:<\/strong> Seats for 2 simultaneous users, paid annually by the Libraries.
