Welcome to Database of the Week, a feature from the Roland G. Parrish Library of Management & Economics.\u00a0 These weekly snapshots will give you basic information about our most relevant and beneficial online resources.<\/p>\n
This Week\u2019s Featured Database:\u00a0 <\/strong>GREENR, <\/em>from Gale Cengage Learning.<\/p>\n Link:<\/strong> www.lib.purdue.edu\/mel<\/a>, in the pull down Quick Access to Business Databases<\/em> alpha list right below the Libraries\u2019 search box.<\/p>\n Description\/focus:<\/strong> GREENR <\/em>offers content, including images and videos, on green technologies and issues on the environment and sustainability.<\/p>\n Start with this hint:\u00a0 <\/strong>The GREENR<\/em>\u00a0 Basic Search<\/strong> and Advanced Search<\/strong> display results by document type such as Academic Journals, Videos, Podcasts, etc. and so results can be limited with further descriptors. For example, enter \u201cclimate change\u201d as a Basic Search<\/strong> and the 16,000 hits can be narrowed down by a list of subjects that appear on the left, such as Greenhouse Gases,<\/em> or by type of resource, such as Academic Journals<\/em>, or by format, such as video. The GREENR<\/em>\u00a0 home page offers general categories (Agriculture and Food Systems, Science and Technology, Social Factors<\/em>, etc.) that are further broken down into topics.\u00a0 See here <\/a>for a short video tutorial on the basics of searching GREENR<\/p>\n Why you should know this database:<\/strong>\u00a0 GREENR<\/em>\u00a0 covers food security, environmental law and politics, economics and trade, pollution, ecology, energy, and more.\u00a0 It includes many of the academic resources that are in text-only databases, but GREENR<\/em>\u00a0 also includes podcasts, websites, newspapers, videos, magazines, and case studies.\u00a0 You can navigate country, organization, and country portals for news, video, and primary source documents.<\/p>\n How this database can be integrated into the curriculum:<\/strong> GREENR<\/em>\u00a0has an updated\u00a0 look resembling the web and should appeal to anyone.\u00a0 It is easy to search or browse by topic, country, or format.\u00a0 Students will find GREENR<\/em> easy to navigate, and can use it to find content on a topic or select a subject for an assignment.<\/p>\n Tags<\/strong>: agribusiness, agricultural economics, agriculture, articles, companies, countries, country profiles, demographics, economic conditions, energy, environmental research, full text, international markets, international news, news, resource economics,<\/p>\n Cost: <\/strong>Paid annually by Purdue University Libraries..<\/p>\n ——————————<\/p>\n Database of the Week comes to you from the Roland G.
