POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n Information Literacy Instructional Designer <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n Purdue University Libraries seeks a highly motivated, outgoing, and innovative Information Literacy<\/span>Instructional Designer (ILID) to work with classroom faculty to embed information literacy into foundational courses that are being redesigned through the (IMPACT) Instruction Matters: Purdue Academic Course Transformation program.\u00a0 IMPACT is a provost funded initiative comprised of <\/span>partners from the <\/span>Center for Instructional Excellence<\/a><\/span> (CIE), <\/span>Discovery Learning Research Center<\/a><\/span> (DLRC), <\/span>iTaP Teaching and Learning<\/a><\/span>, <\/span>Purdue Extended Campus<\/a><\/span> (PEC), and the <\/span>Libraries<\/a><\/span> that works with faculty and instructors to improve student competency and confidence through student-centered teaching and learning.<\/span><\/p>\n Purdue Libraries values information literacy, and takes an informed learning approach that emphasizes engaging with information to learn in a discipline-focused context. Working under the guidance of the Libraries\u2019 Information Literacy Specialist, the ILID will lead efforts to collaborate with and guide faculty and instructors in the development of instructional designs for <\/span>teaching learners to use information in embedded ways that support the attainment of instructional outcomes.\u00a0 IMPACT offers an opportunity for the Libraries to promote student-centered learning, and to enhance Purdue students\u2019 information literacy. The ILID will participate on interdepartmental teams that collaborate with faculty and instructors on course development projects in areas such as instructional design, evaluation of instructional outcomes, and curriculum development. The ILID will develop instructional material designed to promote best practices for addressing information literacy in the undergraduate classroom.\u00a0 The ILID will also collaborate with faculty or instructors in the development of classroom research projects.<\/span><\/p>\n Reporting to the Information Literacy Specialist who coordinates the Libraries\u2019 involvement in IMPACT, the ILIDwill provide regular reports on the progress and status of their work with faculty and instructors.
