Welcome to Database of the Week.\u00a0 This feature from the Roland G. Parrish Library of Management & Economics is intended to give you a brief introduction to a database that you may not know, with only basic information to get you started.\u00a0 Hopefully, you will be tempted to explore this or other databases.<\/p>\n
This Week\u2019s Featured Database: <\/strong>ABI\/INFORM Global<\/em>, from ProQuest.<\/p>\n Find it:<\/strong> www.lib.purdue.edu\/parrish<\/a>, Under the column headed Collections, click on List of Business Databases.<\/p>\n Description\/focus:<\/strong>\u00a0 ABI\/INFORM Global<\/em> is one of the most comprehensive business databases, delivering the content of over 3000 scholarly journals, trade journals, and non-periodicals such as EIU ViewsWire, Business Dissertations, and Business Cases.<\/p>\n Start with this hint:<\/strong> The ProQuest interface begins at the Basic Search which treats your search terms as keywords. You can switch to Advanced Search and narrow your results by limiting to title, subject, or other field. You can also search in combined ProQuest databases by opening the \u201cSearching\u201d list above the ProQuest logo.\u00a0 <\/strong>If your search results include titles displaying the icon Find It @ Purdue Libraries, click on that icon to see if the article is available in another database.<\/p>\n Click here<\/a> to see the basics of searching ABI\/INFORM Global<\/em> or try our Guide on the Side with this link<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Why you should know this database:<\/strong> Almost all Parrish Library Subject Guides and classroom instruction sessions include ABI\/INFORM Global<\/em> as a recommended database for articles.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n How this will help students:<\/strong>\u00a0 ABI\/INFORM Global<\/em> gives researchers at all levels easy access to business and financial information, with the capability to narrow the search to scholarly journals, trade publications, or dissertations.
