Each of these weekly snapshots will give you a very brief introduction to the basic features of one of our specialized subscription databases. This week\u2019s database is OECD iLibrary, which is produced by Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Link:<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/guides.lib.purdue.edu\/businessdatabasest\">http:\/\/guides.lib.purdue.edu\/businessdatabases<\/a> is the alphabetical list of the databases specially selected for those in a business program of study. Access the databases off-campus with your Purdue login and password.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Focus:<\/strong> <em>OECD <\/em>iLibrary offers statistics, full text books, and reports from the OECD, whose focus is the world economy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Search: <\/strong>The <em>OECD<\/em> iLibrary opening page has a menu bar to browse by theme, country, catalogue, and statistics. The basic search box finds your term in several fields, and then you can limit the results to books, papers, statistics, etc. If your subject is a phrase, be sure to use quotation marks: <em>water policies<\/em> will give different results from <em>\u201cwater policies.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0 The default for the Advanced Search is to look for your term in all fields, so limit to Title and Abstract to get a manageable number of hits.<\/p>\n<p>Click <a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/iIw9vkPJGPU\">here<\/a> to see the basics of searching<em> OECD iLibrary<\/em> or try our Guide on the Side with <a href=\"http:\/\/sites.lib.purdue.edu\/guides\/tutorial\/getting-started-with-oecd-ilibrary\">this link<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why you should know this database:<\/strong> The statistical databases in <em>OECD iLibrary<\/em> cover national accounts, economic indicators, trade, employment, migration, education, energy, health, development and innovation in both member and non-member countries.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How this will help students:<\/strong>\u00a0Students searching for an international research topic can browse the <em>OECD iLibrary<\/em> <strong>Theme<\/strong> or <strong>Country<\/strong> menus for issues in Europe, Africa, Latin America and Asia-Pacific.\u00a0 The organization covers economic and social trends, from the labor force in persistently poor areas to the innovation and growth of the Internet economy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cost:<\/strong> $12,749.00 paid by the Libraries annually.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n<p>Database of the Week comes to you from the Roland G.
