{"id":486,"date":"2009-12-03T11:05:59","date_gmt":"2009-12-03T15:05:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.lib.purdue.edu\/news\/?p=486"},"modified":"2009-12-03T12:11:22","modified_gmt":"2009-12-03T16:11:22","slug":"purdue-libraries-contributes-to-city-university-of-new-york-2010-calendar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.lib.purdue.edu\/news\/2009\/12\/03\/purdue-libraries-contributes-to-city-university-of-new-york-2010-calendar\/","title":{"rendered":"Purdue Libraries contributes to City University of New York 2010 Calendar"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Purdue Libraries-Archives and Special Collections<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Purdue Libraries Contributes to City University of New York 2010 Calendar and Curriculum Project<\/p>\n<p>December 3, 2009&#8211; This year, Purdue Libraries, Archives and Special Collections was among more than 100 public colleges and universities in all 50 states that contributed to the 2010 City University of New York\u2019s (CUNY) calendar, website and curriculum project by sharing historic images and milestones from their own past.<\/p>\n<p>Entitled, \u201cInvesting in Futures: Public Higher Education in America,\u201d the 2010 calendar project is the sixth such collaboration bringing together CUNY, the LaGuardia and Wagner Archives and The New York Times Knowledge Network, with support provided by founding sponsors JPMorgan Chase and TIAA-CREF.<\/p>\n<p>Visit the Investing In Futures calendar\/curricula website:<br \/>\nhttp:\/\/www.cuny.edu\/publichighered<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are particularly enthused about this year\u2019s calendar which underscores our country\u2019s historic commitment to advanced learning and the importance of a strong system of public colleges and universities to America\u2019s social and economic well-being,\u201d said Craig Dunn, The New York Times\u2019 Education Partnerships Manager. \u201cIts launch reinforces President Obama\u2019s recent announcement of the American Graduation Initiative and funding for community colleges.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The LaGuardia and Wagner Archives, which produced the calendar, is housed at CUNY\u2019s LaGuardia Community College in Queens, New York, The launch of the 2010 CUNY calendar, website and curriculum was celebrated at a reception on November 11 at The New York Times Conference Center. Dr. Muriel A.
