Welcome to this feature from the Management & Economics Library (MEL).\u00a0 These database snapshots will give you basic information about our most relevant and beneficial online resources.\u00a0 This week our feature is not a database but a recap of a quick way of getting to the business databases.<\/p>\n

Tool name:<\/strong> MyMEL toolbar<\/em>; from the Management & Economics Library.<\/p>\n

Link:<\/strong> www.lib.purdue.edu\/mel<\/a>, in the left column under MEL Links<\/strong>, click on MyMEL toolbar<\/em> and download the toolbar in seconds.<\/p>\n

Description\/focus:<\/strong> This toolbar gives you access to MEL\u2019s resources on your laptop or pc.<\/p>\n

Start with this hint:<\/strong> The first dropdown on MyMEL<\/em> is the list of databases.\u00a0 The next link is a list of BizTools<\/strong>, including course pages and tutorials.\u00a0 Research Tools<\/strong> links to aids such as citation management help.\u00a0 RSS feeds<\/strong> has news from the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Business Week, <\/em> and Inside Indiana Business<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Why you should know this tool:<\/strong> MyMEL<\/em> gives quick access to the databases, but also provides links to your department home page as well as MEL\u2019s home page.<\/p>\n

How this will help students:<\/strong> The default search engine for the search box is Google but can be changed to Google Scholar, eJournal Finder, the Purdue Catalog, or others.\u00a0 The link for Research Tools <\/strong>gives quick access to the Online Writing Lab (OWL) and Software Remote.<\/p>\n
